Imagine a child waking up on Christmas Day and having nothing to unwrap. No gift, no new toy, and sometimes nothing to eat. Sadly, this is the reality facing an increasing number of South Australians during the festive season.

That’s why UnitingSA’s Christmas Appeal is so important for the many families and individuals doing it tough. Their annual Christmas Appeal helps provide gifts for children and puts food on the table for those who are struggling.

As the creative agency, we’re truly honoured to be involved in the 2024 Appeal. So, we wanted to think outside the box to disrupt people who are going about their day to day and encourage them to ‘Save this Christmas’ by donating to this worthy cause.

Our campaign leverages off the traditional retail ads leading up to Christmas, but with an unexpected twist. What you’re ‘saving’ is a child or family from having nothing to look forward to on Christmas Day.

All our campaign collateral is strategically placed amongst retail environments where shoppers congregate either physically or online to maximise an already captive audience.

So, did we help save Christmas?

We’re thrilled to announce UnitingSA’s 2024 Christmas Appeal helped 797 families and individuals access the simple joys of Christmas, as well as essential emergency relief, such as food, clothing and personal hygiene products.

Over 740 children and teens received gifts from UnitingSA’s magical Toy Room in Port Adelaide which was stocked by generous Christmas Gift Partners and members of the local community.

And just as importantly, UnitingSA’s annual lunch was attended by 45 community members who may have otherwise been alone and without a meal on Christmas day.
