CLIENT: LEGAL SERVICES COMMISSION OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA
AGENCY: SUPER-DUPER
For us, it’s the huge number of young women who are susceptible to sexual violence – but don’t know the law and as a result, don’t know what to do.
In fact, many young women brush off an inappropriate touch or sharing explicit photos as simply ‘awkward’ or ‘gross’, when in reality, it’s a crime.
It was time to empower young women of South Australia.
In partnership with Legal Services Commission of South Australia, we wanted to educate young women on what sexual violence can look like in everyday contexts.
That way, girls can recognise when they may need support.
But to target 16-24 year old women, we needed an engaging social campaign that talks to them in their very own language.
A series of films specifically created for social platforms, identified four areas of sexual violence to help encourage conversations around the topics.
In-venue posters in bars and clubs also targeted our audience while reinforcing the message.
The campaign has raised awareness of Legal Services’ support program, along with educational resources and information on how to get help. It also provides an accessible platform that encourages young women to know their rights.
If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, recently or in the past, visit Legal Services for more information.
